The Scottish Civil Justice Council official launch event was held on 23 September 2013, at Parliament Hall, Edinburgh, with speeches given by the Cabinet Secretary for Justice, Mr Kenny MacAskill MSP, and the Lord President, The Right Honourable Lord Gill.

The Act of Sederunt (Summary Applications, Statutory Applications and Appeals etc. Rules Amendment) (Policing and Crime Act 2009) 2013 was made by the court on 12th August 2013 and will come into force on the 1st October 2013.

The Court of Session Act of Sederunt (Rules of the Court of Session Amendment No. 5)(Miscellaneous) 2013 was made by the court on 30th July 2013 and will come into force on the 19th August.

The SCJC has published its consultation on reporting restrictions and is inviting responses from interested parties and stakeholders.
