The Act of Sederunt (Rules of the Court of Session 1994, Sheriff Appeal Court Rules and Sheriff Court Rules Amendment) (Miscellaneous) 2023 was made by the Court of Session on 27 June 2023 and laid before the Scottish Parliament on 29 June 2023.

The new rules require an application for a reporting restriction order to be made by motion and accompanied by a form. Submission of the form is mandatory and requires clear reasons to be narrated on why such an order is sought.

The Act of Sederunt will come into force on 2 October 2023.
