Civil Online Rules Review Excercise

‚ÄčA questionnaire has been launched today to aid the Scottish Civil Justice Council’s review of the rule change making the use of Civil Online Mandatory for Simple procedure cases. It will run until 13 April 2021.

The questionnaire seeks views from court users, including party litigants, solicitors and professional services firms that have used Civil Online and the Application Programme Interface, developed by SCTS, to submit their claims as a result of these rules.

The Act of Sederunt (Simple Procedure Amendment) (Civil Online) 2020/293 making the court rules came in to force on the 1st of December 2020 and will expire on 30 September 2021.

The Council’s Access to Justice Committee will consider the views expressed by court users responding to the questionnaire to assist it in preparing a report and recommendations for the Council about whether or not to extend the rules pass the 30th of September.
