The Council has launched a consultation, which will run until 17 November, on the review of solicitors’ fees in the Scottish civil courts.
The consultation seeks views and evidence from stakeholders on the fees for solicitors that can be recovered under an award of expenses made in the Court of Session, Sheriff Appeal Court and sheriff court.
Separate consultation exercises will take place regarding the other categories of fees which are regulated by the Court of Session.
The Council’s Costs and Funding Committee will be considering the fees prescribed and whether there should be any increase or reduction in the current levels.
If you would like to take part in the consultation, please see the relevant documents on the Council’s website.
The SCJC welcomes feedback on any aspect of court rules. Please email your comments to the Secretariat.
