Human Trafficking & Exploitation

Jun 21, 2017

The Council has produced new rules in relation to the Human Trafficking and Exploitation (Scotland) Act 2015.

These rules make provision for trafficking and exploitation prevention orders (TEPOs) and trafficking and exploitation risk orders (TEROs) in the courts. These orders can be made by a sheriff to prevent a person who the sheriff considers is at risk of committing a human trafficking offence from doing so.

The rules relating to TEPOs will come into force on 30 June 2017 and the rules relating to TEROs will come into force on 31 October 2017.

See the Rules section for more information.
