Scottish Court Service and Scottish Tribunals Service to merge

Nov 15, 2013

The Scottish Government has set out its plans for a joint administration for courts and devolved tribunals in Scotland. As with the current Scottish Court Service structure, the new body would be fully independent of Government, with a board chaired by the Lord President as head of courts and tribunals judiciary.

Following a recent consultation, the Minister for Community Safety and Legal Affairs, Roseanna Cunningham MSP, announced her intention to bring forward legislation to effect this change in early 2014.
